Fred Schott, President

I have been involved with Scott’s House from the start as a friend to John and Glenys through the Rotary Club of Santa Fe.  Myself and members of the club were involved in helping Glenys move in and work on the Scott’s House grounds.  We also helped with the first “open-house”.  I have been a member of the board since January of 2022.

Professionally as a clergy person I have been a Redeveloper for the Lutheran Church, working to turn around troubled/declining congregations in inner-city Philadelphia and suburban New Jersey.  I have worked in mental health as a family therapist, a psycho-therapist, and a clinical director with two mental health hospital.  I have served as a mental health consultant to US Health Care HMO. I have worked with and on the boards of various not-for-profit organizations in Philadelphia, central New Jersey and Santa Fe.

My education and training include, in addition to my BA, a masters in theology, a masters in counseling psychology, a masters in family therapy and a doctorate in psychology (personality and brain function).

With a passion for non-profits working to enhance the lives of individuals, Scot’s House resonates deeply with me. I was fortunate to meet Glynis and John in 2021 when my father was housed at Scot’s House. The love, care and support he and my family were given was invaluable. I will be forever grateful. I have been a member of the Scott’s House Board since September 2023.

My career includes 30+ years working for non-profit organizations in NM. This includes 16 years with The Nature Conservancy in NM where I was the Director of Finance & Operations. My work over the years has been focused on Human Resources, Accounting, and Office/Facilities Management. I have managed volunteers, coordinated large and small events from planning through completion, managed budgets, accounted for funds from a wide variety of sources, worked with vendors, analyzed and provided financial statements, and much more. I am currently an Accountant & Office Manager for a local family foundation.

I grew up in, and live in Santa Fe with my husband, Tony, and have two amazing adult children.
